The Great A.R.S. Shootout Nets an Extra $455 in Donations This Year Over Last

The second year of the Great ARS Shootout proved better than the first, as area golfers and corporate sponsors contributed $1,250 for local fire departments. The amount was $455, or 57 percent, more than the proceeds raised for firefighters at last year’s tournament.

Logo: The Great A.R.S. Shootout 2011Twenty-five players and nine corporate sponsors had a share in this year’s benefit, which was held in balmy weather under clear skies on Tuesday, October 11, 2011, at the Bedford Country Club.

The $1,250 raised went to five local fire departments: Bedford $816.66, Corning $66.67, Gravity $200.00, Lenox $66.67 and Shenandoah $100.00.

A Hole-in-One at Hole 7 would have awarded the winner with $10,000. Unfortunately, no one was able to claim the prize this year.
